EGYPT AUTOMOTIVE LUBRICANTS MARKET - SIZE, SHARE, COVID-19 IMPACT & FORECASTS UP TO 2026

Egypt's automotive lubricants market, which had a volume of 332.54 million litres in 2021, is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 3.33 percent to 391.68 million litres by 2026. In Egypt, passenger vehicles (PV) made up almost 50% of all on-road vehicles in 2020, followed by motorcycles (MC) and commercial vehicles (CV), which had respective shares of 33.2% and 17%.

Around 70% of the total automotive lubricant use in 2020 came from the CV segment, with PV (23.5%) and MC (6.6%) following closely behind. The COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 caused a noticeable decline in the consumption of lubricants, with PV lubricant consumption experiencing the largest decline (8.2%), followed by CV (8.1%) and MC (4.7%).

Motorcycles are expected to consume the most lubricants, with a CAGR of 5.76% between 2021 and 2026. In the upcoming years, it is anticipated that a recovery in low-cost moped sales and a rise in the penetration of foreign motorcycle brands will propel the expansion.
